The film reveals the world’s unique luminary times of 1850’s -1880s in Romania portraying the most prominent literary figures: Mihai Eminescu, Veronica Micle, Ion Creanga, Ioan Luca Caragiale and Vasile Alexandri. “Luceafarul” is a symbol of the Romanian soul, and mostly of its burning Shakespearian passion. This unique cinematographic revelation is a spiritual investment of any soul searching for Its Meaning, Love and Peace.
Luceafãr in Romanian is the name of the morning star (the planet Venus), which is also linked to the Greek Titan Hyperion.
Mihai Eminescu the biggest Romanian poet wrote the divine love-poem named “Luceafãrul”, to detail some of the attributes of genius condition and metaphysical pain. http://www.romanianvoice.com/poezii/poeti_tr/eminescu_eng.php
The film is composed of two parts lasting 257 min, revealing some exceptional scenery and realities of 19th century. The language of the movie is the classic Romanian. The music features one of the most remarkable composers Eugen Doga who is called ‘the Moldavian Mozart with the Hollywood scope.’
